Rule Alerts reports a sourced change. Field Notes appears only when a new practical guide or tool is worth carrying into Japan. They are separate subscriptions.
Japan's duty-free system changes on 1 November 2026 — the procedure, and what it will cost you to get wrong, is set out in the tax-free refund guide. That is a Rule Alert. A new bottle-checking tool is a Field Note. Keeping those promises separate means subscribing to one never silently opts you into the other.
Everything either list has ever carried is also published openly on the change log, with an RSS feed. If you would rather not hand over an address, use that instead — it carries the same entries and asks for nothing.
